Recensione
“Here’s a WOW of a book! Seeing half-wild Katsa learn humanity as she battles soldiers, storms, and her own obsessive nature—I HAD to know how it ended!” —Tamora Pierce
“Katsa and Po are wonderful: They make me want to cheer. Due to a strong heroine, a supportive hero, political intrigue, and action throughout, this is a book I’ll share with my daughter.” —Melissa Marr, author of Wicked Lovely

In most of the seven kingdoms, people born with a Grace--an extreme skill that they can perform above all others--are usually feared.
However, King Randa of the Middluns kingdom has exploited Katsa's ability to kill ever since her Grace surfaced at the tender age of eight. Katsa had even begun to think that maybe, in reality, she really was nothing but an attack dog, until one day she decided to follow her own will and let an innocent man live. Since then, she and her cousin, Prince Raffin, have put together a secret council to rescue people suffering from similar injustices.
During a rescue mission to free the father of the Lienid king from a dungeon in Sunder, Katsa squares off with a Graced Lienid man who is almost her equal in fighting. When he shows up in Middluns, Katsa is dismayed to learn that he is one of the Lienid princes, nicknamed "Po," in search of his missing grandfather.
Although Katsa is at first wary of his intentions, she soon finds a kindred spirit in Po, and the two grow close as they set off on a journey to solve the mystery surrounding the kidnapping of Po's grandfather. In Monsea, a kingdom isolated by mountains, Po's aunt and young cousin may be in grave danger...
Akin to the tales of Tamora Pierce, this story features strong female characters and an exciting medieval world full of magic and action. Definitely not one to miss!

Po is incredibly sweet, and it is beautiful and kind. He doesn't pressure Katsa to take him on his terms, but allows her to set her own. He recognizes her for who she is, and doesn't assume that she doesn't want to marry 'right now'.
Going on a chase across different kingdoms, facing powerful enemies and running from them. This book has it all, and it is highly difficult to stop reading it. I only made breaks because I was working in between reading it.
It has deapth.
It has relatable characters.
But most importantly, it is one hell of a story.
15/10
If you liked this book I definitely recommend that you absolutely read Red Queen and/or Renegades.
This book is honestly one of my favourites. It's well written, the story is intriguing, and the romance isn't offsetting. It balances the nuances of its genre well and established a strong identity and characteristics to it's world. I would definitely recommend Graceling to anyone who enjoys well written and emotionally involved YA fantasy.
Lemme just say that I. Freaking. Loved. It.
This books has elements of fantasy, mystery, thriller, magic, epic romance; has a strong female character (I know I just had anti-feminists triggered), a satisfying ending, lovable characters, beautiful world building, heart wrenching relationships and an OP bad guy.
In this world, Graces work like superpowers, but only in one exclusive domain, and our protagonist Katsa's Grace is of killing. She is used as a knife by her Uncle (hence the representation in the cover) to carry out his bullying. But being the amazing person she is, Katsa has secretly been working against the tyranny of the 7 kings.
She meets Po, who is a graced fighter and totally a sweetheart. They don't have a soppy mushy romance which ruins most books for me. It has a mytery element to it so this all I'm going to say about the plot.
I will mention that I may have a certain bias for this book as I love the characters and the writing so much.
